Víkingur Ólafsson releases his own new arrangement and performance of the first aria from Bach’s Cantata BWV 21 of the same name “Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis” (I had much grief). Following the release of his recording of Bach’s epic Goldberg Variations last year, the star-pianist once again reveals his profound affinity with the music of this composer. This the second of five such Bach tracks, arranged and performed by Ólafsson, and which will be released together as an EP in October.
