Music For Three is a work by John Cage, that wasn’t originally written for horn trio, but can easily be fleshed out in this instrumental lineup, as presented by Přemysl Vojta (horn), Florence Millet (piano) and Ye Wu (violin) in their latest album. The composition allows freedom for performance alternatives by using “time brackets”, during which performers should play their often fragmentary or extremely brief indicated parts. The trio is complemented by combinations of the compositional parts for solo performances.
