This week, our Musical Moments Series continues with a piece by Asya Fateyeva on Soprano Saxophone and Luise Enzian on Baroque harp, arranged by Fateyeva herself who loves to reinvent the repertoire from all genres for the saxophone. She has quickly become one of the most prominent representatives for saxophone in the music world. With Luise Enzian on the harp, Asya takes us on a baroque journey to discover the work of Giovanni Felice Sances (1600–1679). She has arranged the piece for baroque harp and soprano saxophone which brings out the composition’s cantabile character – Sances was primarily a singer and very popular in his time. Accenti queruli is in essence a musical arrangement of a lamenting text about unrequited love.Â
