Product Information

The 2nd series of our project FRAGMENTS, where electronic artists are invited to combine traditional and modern composition, puts the spotlight this time on the work of French composer Lili Boulanger (1893–1918) – younger sister to the also renowned composer and teacher Nadia Boulanger.

Lili Boulanger began her classical music studies at a very young age, receiving lessons on the organ, piano, cello, violin and harp. Though she suffered from chronic illness, which hindered her from attending the Conservatoire de Paris regularly, she instead studied on her own at home, including lessons from Gabriel Fauré. When Boulanger died at the young age of 24, she had made a name for herself, yet her most important works had not yet even been performed.

The first single is pølaroit’s rework of Lili Boulanger’s Nocturne.
