In the Year of the Dragon 2024, pianist Lang Lang celebrates his Chinese heritage with a special digital edition of all his recordings of Chinese works. The album is entitled Year of the Dragon – Songs from China and features 50 tracks spanning the complete original Dragon Songs album, Tan Dun’s Eight Memories in Watercolour, the Yellow River Concerto, River Waltz, as well as popular tracks from Piano Book. Further, the album includes two brand new recordings – Snowflakes and Moon is Bright Lullaby.
Listen to Snowflakes, one of the new recordings on the album, as a pre-release track. Composed by Zhang Chuan for the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 as a version for children’s choir, the piece has now been transcribed as a piano solo version for Lang Lang. The full digital album will be released on 27 September.
