Pianist Lang Lang and tenor Benjamin Bernheim came together on 7 December with various global superstars of the music world for an unprecedented concert to celebrate the reopening of Paris’s iconic Notre-Dame cathedral, which has been restored to its original glory five years after it was devastated by fire. The concert, staged in thanks to those involved in the cathedral’s reconstruction, showcases a dizzying array of talent. On the occasion, Lang Lang and Bernheim recorded a special and emotional duet as a tribute to Notre-Dame. It is a brand-new arrangement of iconic Jacques Brel’s favourite Quand on n’a que l’amour (“When You Only Have Love”) in a beautiful new mainstream arrangement by Randy Kerber, who is known as John Williams’ preferred arranger and pianist. In addition, there will be a special version for Apple including an exclusive audio commentary about the track and the collaboration.
