Pianist Daniil Trifonov presents a transcription of John Williams’ Man of the House from the movie Home Alone. “The score by John Williams is brilliant. I stumbled upon the album with the soundtrack and there was one track that particularly interested me. It was this one ‘Man of the House’, so I decided to make a transcription of it. I made it for two pianos, but I played it all by myself – first one part and then overdubbed another part. Later in post-production those tracks were layered together, so technically it’s two pianos playing,” says Trifonov. The piece is released as part of Apple Music’s yearly Carols Covered campaign that features artists covering their favorite holiday classics.
