John Williams composed the music for the first three Harry Potter films. In the second instalment, The Chamber of Secrets (2002), we’re introduced to Fawkes, the headmaster Albus Dumbledore’s red-plumed phoenix, whose powers of regeneration make him immortal. Williams created an appropriately soaring theme with magical touches that hint at the key role this mythical creature would play in the film’s climax, saving Harry and foiling the forces of evil. “Fawkes the Phoenix” is perhaps the most memorable of all the new themes in the second film.
