FRANZ SCHUBERT

Schubert was just 18 years old when he wrote this simple but eloquent setting of one of two poems by the great German poet Goethe entitled Wandrers Nachtlied (Wanderer’s Nightsong). In this instrumental arrangement of D224, cellist Kian Soltani and pianist Aaron Pilsan create an intimate, solemn atmosphere, reflecting the call of Goethe’s restless wanderer to be filled with inner peace.
