“Ever since I became Artistic Director of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, it’s been obvious that I should record the five Mozart concertos with them,” says Renaud Capuçon. “Their sound and sense of phrasing are so inspiring. Recording these works together was pure joy.”
Assuming the dual role of soloist and director, Renaud Capuçon turned to the subtle musical complexities of Mozart’s violin concertos armed with a feeling for their spontaneity and a determination to bring them to life in the moment. The album was recorded last September with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne (of which the violinist is Artistic Director) at Lausanne’s Théâtre.
