George Frideric Handel

Raphaël Feuillâtre performs a much-loved work by Handel. Here transcribed for guitar, this Sarabande was originally part of a harpsichord suite (HWV 437). It’s a stylised version of a slow, dignified dance, once very popular at the French court, which composers such as Handel and Bach used with other, contrasting dances to create their instrumental suites.
