The great Czech composers occupied an important place in the varied repertoire of star conductor Rafael Kubelík. Many of his interpretations became cult, including this recording of Dvořák’s 9th Symphony From the New World with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1972, released as part of our Original Source Series. In it, the maestro “captured the enthusiasm of his players, creating feelings of both tension and poetry” (Gramophone).
