Through a cooperation with Deutsche Grammophon, the final stages of the renowned Busoni Piano Competition can be experienced live on STAGE+ between August 29 and September 3.
At the end of 2022, shortly before the 125th anniversary of the legendary record label, Deutsche Grammophon launched its new service STAGE+. The subscription-based platform for classical music offers live streams and an extensive video archive, as well as new audio releases. STAGE+ is thus the latest entry in the range of digital services for classical music and firmly places the audience at the center of its user-oriented design: subscribers get closer to renowned artists than ever before.
In 2023, STAGE+ will feature the final rounds of the Busoni Competition. A multi-faceted accompanying program will also feature portraits of the finalists, musical highlights from the solo or chamber music rounds, and a historical summary of the prize-winners of the past four editions. Not only the final rounds of the International Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition will be part of the exclusive offer in August 2023; in addition, the first-prize winner will be featured in the “Rising Stars”, comprising an audiovisual concert portrait and digital audio releases.
Dr Clemens Trautmann, CEO of Deutsche Grammophon and himself a member of the jury for this year’s final rounds, explains: “To discover outstanding individual talent and promising young artists in the context of a renowned competition as the Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition is extremely inspiring for a global audience. We are delighted to offer a live broadcast of the final performances of these extremely talented young pianists worldwide and to portray the winner in a Deutsche Grammophon production. With STAGE+, we have reshaped access to classical music and the opportunity to present the best that this art form has to offer on this very stage together with our partners.”
