Celebrating the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner’s birth
This week we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Anton Bruckner (4 September), to mark this bicentenary year we have recently re-released Herbert von Karajan’s legendary cycle of Bruckner Symphonies with the Berliner Philharmoniker (1975–81) now on 17 LPs. The edition is part of our Original Source series where the original multitrack mastertapes (in this case 8-track for symphonies 4–9) have been remastered and cut directly to the lacquer (used by the factory to mass produce) in one on-the-fly 100% analogue process. “The result: breathtaking. If there is a high-end record player on that famous desert island, you know what to take with you.” (Rondo Magazine)Â

We also have a new digital album of Karajan’s complete recordings of works by Bruckner and have remastered Giulini’s recording of the 9th symphony (1988) in Dolby Atmos®.Â
