50 years after Stravinsky’s death, Deutsche Grammophon presents Stravinsky’s “La Sacre du Printemps” in a special live recording from Walt Disney Concert Hall. Esa-Pekka Salonen is featured in his first recording as principal conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The 2003 recording is marked by a special constellation: the outstanding acoustics of Walt Disney Hall made not only Stravinsky’s “Sacre” an extraordinary miracle of sound, but also Mussorgsky’s “Night on the Bald Mountain” and Bartók’s suite “The Miraculous Mandarin.” The energetic live production, marked by musical power, is released on CD and in a new 24-bit remastering on Blu-ray Audio Disc. The Blu-ray includes a stereo 2.0, a surround 5.1 and a Dolby Atmos® mix. The booklet includes an insightful essay by Alan Rich on the connection between Walt Disney, his classic film Fantasia and composer Igor Stravinsky. A must-have for any sound lover.
Listen now in the new high-quality spatial listening experience of Dolby Atmos® on Apple Music, TIDAL HiFi Plus and Amazon Music Unlimited.
