SONGS FOR OUR TIMES

Songs for Our Times is Sphinx Virtuosi’s DG debut album. This groundbreaking self-conducted American string ensemble comprises 18 exceptional young Black and Latinx string players. Songs for Our Times presents works by Michael Abels, Valerie Coleman, Ricardo Herz, Jessie Montgomery, Florence Price, Aldemaro Romero and Carlos Simon, as well as a new Beethoven arrangement by Rubén Rengel. It shines a light both on a community of composers often under-represented in programming and on some breathtaking musicianship.
