SEA SONGS

The Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel shares a rich selection of romantic sea shanties, spirited sailor songs and maritime folk tunes from his homeland and the coasts of England, Ireland, Shetland, Brittany and far beyond. He was joined by guest artists including Sting, singer-songwriter Eve Goodman, baritone Sir Simon Keenlyside, the Welsh folk band Calan and the Fisherman’s Friends to record the album Sea Songs and trace the strong ties binding together the seafaring communities of different nations, with highlights like the well-known song “The Wellerman” or shanty “Drunken Sailor”.
