The young German pianist Julius Asal releases the deluxe digital edition of his DG debut album Scriabin – Scarlatti. Presenting a dreamlike meditation between different eras and states of mind by combining two composers that are rarely mentioned in the same breath, Asal recorded the innovative program on two different Steinway pianos to create sumptuous dark sonorities versus a clear, crisp sound. In addition to Scriabin’s first Piano Sonata, selected Preludes and Etudes, as well as six Sonatas by Scarlatti, this deluxe version features five previously unreleased tracks, one composed by Scarlatti, one by Scriabin, an improvisation on Scriabin as well as two composed by Asal himself.
