On the occasion of Ravel’s 150th birthday and one-year anniversary of Seiji Ozawa’s death, a limited and numbered vinyl edition of Ozawa’s recordings with the Boston Symphony Orchestra of Ravel’s orchestral works will be released as a 4 LP set on 7 March. Ozawa served as the BSO’s music director from 1973 until 2002, and these Ravel recordings count as one of the very finest achievements of their collaboration. All recordings have been newly mastered from the original 8-track tapes (apart from 1LP side that was originally recorded on 4 tracks) and mixed by the renowned Emil Berliner Studios in pure analogue technique. Each recording is presented in a deluxe gatefold with original artwork and additional photos of the recording documentation. The vinyl set is now available for exclusive pre-order in the DG store.
