The legendary Japanese composer, conductor and pianist Joe Hisaishi releases his album Mládí, for which he combines three scores that he wrote for different movies by actor-director Takeshi Kitano. The works were newly arranged by Hisaishi and have been recorded as part of a hugely successful collaboration with the Wiener Symphoniker. Written for piano and strings, the album sees Hisaishi take on the soloist’s role, directing the players of the Symphoniker from the keyboard. The work is released digitally and as a 12-inch vinyl to celebrate Hisaishi’s 74th birthday on 6 December.
