Claudio Abbado takes the helm of the world’s leading youth orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (founded on Abbado’s initiative almost 40 years ago), for performances of Schoenberg’s symphonic poem Pelleas und Melisande and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 (for which they are joined by soprano Juliane Banse).
