EUNIKE TANZIL

Pianist Eunike Tanzil releases her EP entitled Till Next Christmas, which consists of four Christmas tracks. The work features two different versions of a self-composed piece with the same name as the EP – a solo piano version as well as a version for piano and string accompaniment, for which she is joined by Scoring Berlin. “I always make an effort to spend Christmas back home with my family. Every year, as we part ways, we say, ‘Till Next Christmas,’ knowing it might be the only time we’ll see each other that year. This piece reflects the bittersweet emotions of those goodbyes and the hope for our next reunion,” says Tanzil.  

The work further entails two versions of the piece Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto, one for solo piano and the other for piano and strings, for which she is similarly accompanied by Scoring Berlin. “This is one of my favorite Christmas tunes of all time. I decided to re-arrange it as a way to pay tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto, whose music has been a big inspiration to me.” says the pianist.
