The legendary Daniel Barenboim gives a delightful interpretation of the third of Dvořák’s eight Humoresques, Op. 101 for our Musical Moments series. The eight Humoresques were written in 1894, based on sketches made while the composer was working as Director of the National Conservatory in New York; American influences such as folk-like melodies and syncopation can be clearly heard in this third Humoresque.
