Having won the 2005 Warsaw International Chopin Piano Competition, Rafał Blechacz has long been renowned for his Chopin interpretations. Here he plays the seventh of the composer’s 24 Preludes, Op. 28, written in the late 1830s. Prelude No. 7, marked Andantino, has the rhythm of the mazurka, a Polish dance. Blechacz’s subtle play gives this graceful, poetic miniature a sense of spontaneity.
