Maria João Pires is without doubt one of the greatest pianists, as well as one of the greatest Chopin players of our time. No wonder that her recording of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and André Previn was a huge success ever since its first release on CD in 1993.

Lesser known is the fact that Maria João Pires, André Previn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra also recorded Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in 1991, which laid unpublished in DG’s archives until just recently.

Both recordings will now be available for the very first time on vinyl, presented on 2 LPs on 180g pressings, mastered from the original sources.
