WILLIAM BYRD

Pianist Kit Armstrong follows up his 2021 album William Byrd · John Bull: The Visionaries of Piano Music with a single featuring two more works by Byrd. In tribute to the master composer, the 400th anniversary of whose death we mark on 4 July, he has recorded The Quadran Paven and the Galiard to the Quadran Paven, both from the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, a primary source of late Elizabethan and early Jacobean English keyboard music.
