Recording on our partner label CAvi Music, Korean pianist Junhee Kim releases his debut international album “Apparitions”. Before the pandemic, the pianist mostly performed the composer’s famous virtuoso piano works. However, the obligatory hiatus during the pandemic gave him time to explore Liszt’s lesser-known piano pieces as well. For this album, Kim has chosen works from all periods of the composer’s life, which he has arranged in a specific order to draw on the nuances of Liszt’s personality: “I wanted to approach Liszt’s essential self – a personality that differs from all the images we have of him as a human being,” the pianist affirms. “Each piece tells a different story, depending on its sequential position within the programme.”
