Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra announce their upcoming album with star pianist Yuja Wang performing Shostakovich&rsquo;s two piano concertos. The recordings are part of Nelsons' and the BSO's award-winning decade-long Shostakovich project to mark the 50th anniversary of the composer&rsquo;s death.
Benefiting from the superb audio quality achieved in the exceptional acoustic of Boston&rsquo;s Symphony Hall, Yuja Wang gives characteristically dynamic and expressive performances of Shostakovich's two contrasting piano concertos, written 24 years apart. The new album also features 6 solo piano pieces from Shostakovich&rsquo;s 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87 &amp; Op. 34.
