The Importance of Birds is the new inspiring project from Icelandic composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Snorri Hallgr&iacute;msson. Hallgr&iacute;msson has written and produced seven original tracks for an EP that is an observation and reflection on the fragility and finiteness of life and the relationships with those closest to us and how they are ever changing and growing as time marches on.&nbsp;With his new EP the Icelandic composer creates a soundworld of subtle beauty, consisting of poignant but uplifting solo piano lines, at times underpinned by warm, gently shifting string arrangements and/or layers of electronica that ebb and flow, bearing us ever further along a winding musical path.&nbsp;

The EP will be released digitally and on 180g vinyl. The LP set also includes a signed art card in vinyl format. Listen to the second pre-release single And There Was Nowhere.

Icelandic composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Snorri Hallgr&iacute;msson announces his upcoming release The Importance of Birds, an observation and reflection on the fragility and finiteness of life and the relationships with those closest to us that are ever changing and growing as time marches on.
With his new project, Hallgr&iacute;msson creates a soundworld of subtle beauty, consisting of poignant but uplifting solo piano lines. These are at times underpinned by warm, gently shifting string arrangements and/or layers of electronica that ebb and flow, bearing us ever further along a winding musical path. The work presents seven self-composed and -produced original pieces, of which the first, the mediative and thoughtful Nowhere Again, Kinder, is released today. This piece was composed at the end of the recording session of the project in a one-hour long improvisation session&nbsp;
The full album is released digitally and on vinyl on 12 September and is now available for pre-order. A video of the single Nowhere Again, Kinder&nbsp;is also released today.
