A year has passed since the untimely death of Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. In tribute to the exceptional artist and musical storyteller, Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the life and music of Jóhannsson with a two-volume retrospective edition. The deluxe hardcover book edition features seven albums of Jóhannsson’s earlier works, including The Miners’ Hymns, Copenhagen Dreams, Virðulegu Forsetar, and the previously unreleased soundtrack to the documentary White Black Boy. It’s the first part of a two-volume release with RETROSPECTIVE II being released in 2020.
The first part is out now.
