Canadian star pianist Jan Lisiecki releases his new album, focussing on the kaleidoscopic world of the prelude. Lisiecki himself refers to how he is seeking &ldquo;to showcase the broad possibilities of the humble Prelude&rdquo; that takes &ldquo;the audience on a musical expedition&rdquo;. For this, he contrasts Chopin&rsquo;s iconic Op. 28 cycle with preludes by other composers, such as Bach, Messiaen, Rachmaninoff and G&oacute;recki. Skillfully highlighting these connections and contrasts, Lisiecki reveals how the genre developed over three centuries.
The album is released digitally as well as on CD and vinyl.
