Today, Christian Löffler releases Parallels, the album showcases reworks of pieces by some of classical music’s greatest composers. The project started when the German artist and musician was invited by DG to rework four Beethoven pieces from old shellac recordings that had recently been remastered and digitised. His exploration our archives has paved the way to a full album which will include tracks inspired by J.S. Bach, Chopin, Wagner, Smetana, and Bizet as well as Beethoven.
“I was just following my ears choosing them, searching for parts that really caught my attention. I was jamming on my synths or on the piano to find melodies and sounds that kept the original idea but took it into my universe,” says Löffler. His newly created tracks breathe new life into classical music.
The album is released today, 12 February 2021.
