Maria Jo&atilde;o Pires is without doubt one of the greatest pianists, as well as one of the greatest Chopin players of our time. No wonder that her recording of Chopin&rsquo;s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Andr&eacute; Previn was a huge success ever since its first release on CD in 1993.
Lesser known is the fact that Maria Jo&atilde;o Pires, Andr&eacute; Previn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra also recorded Chopin&rsquo;s Piano Concerto No. 1 in 1991, which laid unpublished in DG&rsquo;s archives until just recently.
Both recordings will now be available for the very first time on vinyl, presented on 2 LPs on 180g pressings, mastered from the original sources.
